Press release after superspeciality eye check – up camp for senior citizens 15th August 2015

As part of the Independence Day celebrations of Vision Multispeciality Hospital, Mapusa in association with Mukta Opticians organized a free superspeciality eye check – up camp for senior citizens on 15 August 2015. This camp has been held for the last twelve years by Vision Care & Mukta opticians and is now an annual feature at Vision Care. The annual camp is looked forward to by the senior citizens. The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Deelip Salgaonkar, prominent businessman and Chairman of Geno Pharmaceuticals, Goa. The introductory function was graced by distinguished personalities from various walks of life including Mr. Jaganath Manerkar, Prof. Ravi Fugeri, Mr Ratnapal Salkar, Mr. Salim Isani, Mr. Virani, Mr. Prakash Pliankar, Mr Dhanraj Harmalkar and others. Dr. Chandrakant Shetye thanked those present for the overwhelming support and encouragement that he has received from all in his endeavour to provide economical & quality healthcare at an affordable cost.
Mr. Deelip Salgonakar in his address to the gathering was appreciative of the service to the Senior Citizens by Dr. Chandrakant Shetye, the team of Vision Multispeciality Hospital, and Mukta Opticians. He highlighted that Vision Hospital has various modern medical facilities which are provided at affordable rates with high standard of quality maintained.
Prof. Ravi Fogueri compered the function and Dr. Bhagyashree Shetye proposed the vote of thanks.
The free eye check- ups were conducted by Dr. Chandrakant Shetye and team. Over 150 senior citizens took the benefit of this camp. Professional guidance was given to the patients regarding treatment & managements and Surgery for cataract and also on other eye related diseases for those patients diagnosed for having such problem. Free spectacles were distributed to the needy patients, kind courtesy of Mr. Kishore Sarsolkar proprietor of Mukta Opticians. Free medicines were also distributed to patients requiring the same.

Vision Multispeciality Hospital celebrated its first anniversary at Heera farm, Ozarem, Pernem- the completion of rendering quality healthcare to the community. Not only has Vision Multispeciality built a beautiful, state of the art hospital, but they have kept their promise to the community bt offering new services in the healthcare industry.
Dr. Satish Shetye, Vice Chancellor, Goa University, was the Chief Guest and Shri Jagannath Manerikar was the Guest Of Honour. The Chief Guest in his address to the Consultants and the staff of Vision Mulitispeciality Hospital and their families lauded the good work of Dr. Chandrakant Shetye and his team of Consultant Doctors and dedicated staff who have put in a lot of effort in the last year. Dr. Chandrakant Shetye presented the annual report of the hospital. In his address he was extremely thankful to the Consultant Doctors and his entire staff who believed in his vision.
Dr. Kuheli Bhattacharya compered the entire function. Dr. Charissa D’Souza addressed the gathering with a welcome speech. Dr. Rajesh Bhatkurse’s fantastic organization of the Antakshari programme had the Consultants, Staff and their families well entertained. The Resident Medical Officers team comprising of Dr. Yoga Yeram and Dr. Charissa D’Souza were the winners of the competition. The services of Shri Shivram Parab , the first employee of Dr. Chandrakant Shetye were recognised by way of felicitation and presentation of a Shawl and traditional lamp, likewise Architect Shri Umesh Shirodkar, was also felicitated by Dr. Satish Shetye. Best staff awards for the year were presented to Sr. Riya Naik, Sr. Bina Dessai, Dr. Priya Hirloskar, Miss Sheetel Walawalkar, and Ms. Suvarna Morje.
The formal function was followed by a buffet for the gathering. A cultural programme was put up by the staff of Vision, which included a variety of songs, dances and a skit. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Bhagyashree Shetye. Later everyone let their hair loose down by the pool and enjoyed themselves at the rain dance party.
