World Glaucoma Week is a Global initiative to raise awareness on Glaucoma. The goal is to alert people to have regular eye check up to detect glaucoma as early as possible. Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness. It usually gives no warning until it is advanced glaucoma and damage to vision is permanent. Hence earlier the diagnosis more vision there is to save and less likely the person will become blind.
The 2021 theme reflects the hope that with regular testing people continue to see the world around us. The world is bright so Save your sight.
